After her time in Waxahachie, Bailey went on to become the assistant superintendent and then superintendent at Mount Calm ISD in Mount Calm, Texas, where she served for nearly five years.
Throughout her career, she has also supported and been involved with various organizations in the greater Hill County area, including, Leadership Greater Hillsboro, Hillsboro Jr. Sesame, Hill County Aggie Moms, Hill County Fair, Abbott Student Teacher Parent organization (STP), Hillsboro Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), Boys and Girls Club, the Central/North Texas KERA, as well as organizations in Mount Calm ISD.
Christy has a bachelor’s degree in education with a minor in reading from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She received her principal certification, her master’s degree in educational leadership, and her superintendent certification from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.
“As a longtime community member of Hillsboro and the Hill County area, I am honored to join the Hill College Board of Regents. I look forward to working with this team that continues to show dedication to shaping the lives of the students we serve,” said Bailey. “The future of education is vital to our community and workforce, and every student deserves the same opportunities to succeed. Through equitable education, personalized learning, and high expectations, I believe Hill College can empower learners to adapt and evolve while cultivating a culture of lifelong learning.”
Christy currently works with her husband, Barry Bailey, at their business, Barry Bailey State Farm in Hillsboro. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, including their two kids, Harrison and Madeline, as well as traveling, cooking, and reading.
“I look forward to working alongside my colleagues, the students, families, and community members to create a promising future and ensuring that Hill College continues to be a beacon of excellence in my new role as a Hill College board member,” said Bailey.
